Queen Anne 1890 West Chester, PA Window and Sill Restoration
AP Lohmann General Contracting / Fine Carpentry restored the original double-hung windows of this 1890 Queen Anne home in West Chester, PA, using traditional restoration techniques and materials. The work focused on repairing deteriorated wood, preserving original historic features, and maintaining the craftsmanship and architectural character of the home.
The project also included the restoration of a deteriorated window sill using traditional wood repair methods. Rather than relying on epoxy fillers, damaged wood was carefully removed and replaced using the Dutchman repair method, with replacement wood selected to match the existing material. This approach preserves the integrity of the original woodwork while providing a durable, long-lasting repair.
